This class covers many different topics including government actors, private searches, different types of searches, abandoned property, curtilage, exceptions to the exclusionary rule, how to handle material witnesses and much more. Each section includes tips on approaching different types of CSI situations and case law to support it. Anthony's class are always 5-STAR!

Federal Constitutional Considerations for Interrogations, Confessions and Identification Procedures Having a solid understanding of the foundational constitutional principles that control the admissibility and reliability of evidence obtained during police investigations is critical to successful prosecution of criminal offenders. Violations of the Miranda rule, for example, will almost certainly lead to the suppression of critical testimonial evidence, such as the defendant’s confession, in a criminal trial. A confession that is involuntary violates a defendant’s right to due process and cannot be used as evidence at trial. An unnecessarily suggestive identification procedure, also a violation of due process, can cause both out-of-court and in-court identifications to be inadmissible. And violations of the Sixth Amendment right to counsel can also render otherwise probative evidence inadmissible. This webinar will provide attendees with a proper understanding of the Fifth, Sixth and Fourteenth Amendment requirements surrounding interrogation, confessions, and identification procedures. Relevant decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States and the lower federal courts will be discussed. To facilitate understanding, illustrative examples will be offered to demonstrate the application of these principles. Attendees will leave the program better prepared to conduct criminal investigations effectively while also fully appreciating and respecting the constitutional rights of the accused.
Leadership and Management Responsibilities One part of any Constitutional Policing training program is about individual, personal efforts to know and understand how the Constitution applies to police practices. The other part, this part, involves organizational leadership—how focused policies, training, strengthened systems and other initiatives can help to establish the legitimacy necessary for effective law enforcement. This program is about leadership principles as applied to the much-needed effort to assure the highest possible quality of Constitutional Policing—inspiring people to apply our organizational values to this vitally important area of ethics, law, and performance. Violations of the Federal Constitution can cause loss of public trust, criminal evidence suppression, massive civil liability and even criminal prosecution of law enforcement officers. This advanced training reminds the leaders of field law enforcement officers what officers can and cannot lawfully do under the United States Constitution. It demonstrates how knowledge of the law can be a powerful tool for achieving investigative goals and it can empower officers to attain higher ethical standards, consistent with their oaths of office, without sacrifice of overall law enforcement effectiveness. All law enforcement leaders at all levels are responsible for assuring high-quality outcomes in this critical area. From hiring to firing and everything in between, leadership involvement and initiatives can help, or hinder, these dynamics. This training explains how. Topics covered will include arrest and detention, search and seizure, and interview and interrogation, along with specific recommendations for strengthened leadership initiatives—including strengthened policy, training, supervision and organizational oversight. Who should attend? All those who teach, oversee and judge the constitutional behavior of field police officers.
I attended two classes. The instructor was very knowledgeable and made the courses easy to understand. I highly recommend anyone to take one of his classes.
