Jason Johansson is a retired law enforcement lieutenant with more than 24 years of progressive experience in investigations, command leadership, and constitutional policing. Over the course of his career with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, he developed a reputation as a subject matter expert in search warrants, investigative protocols, and search and seizure law. His background includes extensive curriculum development and large scale training delivery, with thousands of officers trained throughout Nevada and beyond.
Jason served in multiple command level assignments, including Lieutenant over homicide, sexual assault, gangs, and patrol operations. In those roles, he supervised complex investigations, managed multidisciplinary teams, and coordinated closely with prosecutors and partner agencies. He oversaw hundreds of homicide, sexual assault, and gang related cases, maintained high clearance rates, and led intelligence-driven operations targeting violent crime. He also served for more than a decade on the LVMPD Search and Seizure Committee, where he helped develop policy, authored training curriculum, and acted as a department wide instructor and advisor on constitutional issues.
In addition to his operational leadership, Jason has significant experience as a trainer, consultant, and public facing spokesperson. He regularly conducted media briefings, appeared in national media productions, and presented to community and professional audiences on investigative and public safety issues. Following his retirement, he continues to provide search warrant preparation and investigative training through his consulting work. Agencies value his depth of investigative experience, command perspective, and ability to clearly explain how constitutional principles and best practices apply to high stakes, real world investigations.
