He has taught classes covering Constitutional Law, Fourth Amendment Law Review, Search and Seizure, Vehicle Pursuits, Traffic Stops, and Police K9 Law Updates.

In addition to his law practice, Michael currently serves as a police officer and K9 handler in a northwest Chicago suburb. Michael has been a full-time police officer for twenty-eight years. He has worked in the patrol division, in the traffic division as a motor officer, and is the department’s longest serving field training officer (1999 to present). For the last fourteen years Michael has been assigned to the position of K9 handler. He currently works the midnight shift with his dual-purpose German Shepherd, Argos.

Prior to beginning his police career Michael was a firefighter/paramedic, and he continued to work part time as a fire department paramedic after becoming a full-time police officer. Michael completed twenty-one years as a licensed paramedic and was the lead instructor for numerous Emergency Medical Technician-Basic and Tac-Med courses.

Michael’s extensive experience as an attorney, police officer, K9 handler, and paramedic give him a unique perspective that he brings to his role as an instructor.
