Michael Smith is a prosecutor and legal instructor for Blue to Gold Law Enforcement Training. He has prosecuted thousands of felony cases, ranging from drug offenses to homicide. He currently specializes in prosecuting crimes against children.
Michael regularly lectures to law enforcement officers, attorneys, and judges across the United States on topics including search and seizure, courtroom testimony, report writing, advanced investigative techniques, traffic stops, interdiction, and civil asset forfeiture.
Prior to law school, Michael served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years, during which time he completed two combat tours of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Michael’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in managerial finance and insurance from the University of Mississippi (“Ole Miss”). He also earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law and is a practicing member of the Mississippi Bar.
Michal was prepared for class with all the necessary materials to teach for the day. Highly educated on the topic and relayed the information clearly and effectively.
What a great instructor to teach Advanced Search and Seizure. Michael is extremely knowledgeable, and his instructor style keeps the subject relevant and interesting. For an eight hour course the time flew by and I left with a stronger understanding of search and seizure. I would definitely take another course with Michael as an instructor. Great job!
