I had the pleasure of being taught by John from Blue to Gold during a recent training session held in Greer, South Carolina. He covered several critical topics, including Report Writing, Search and Seizure, and Courtroom Testimony. John's extensive knowledge and expertise were evident throughout the course. I particularly enjoyed his sessions on courtroom testimony, which were enriched with new material from a recent national court case, providing us with up-to-date and relevant insights. I took Advanced Search and Seizure and Advanced Traffic Stops with John. As we all know, Washington state is very restrictive with police affairs. John dove deep into case law to provide Officers with more tools, and dispel commonly accepted beliefs regarding WA laws. And he did so in a fun and captivating manner. You can tell that John is knowledgeable and passionate about his job. Every self-respected LEO needs to take these courses — even the salty vets who may think they know it all. Thanks again John. I enjoy all Blue to Gold trainings I have taken. Switching from one circuit to another can be confusing, this class helps me understand Search and Seizure as it applies to federal law, not just common practice.

I attended the advanced search and seizure course with John Wiehn. He did a great job explaining different case laws to us and making sure we had an understanding of everything he was teaching us. Every law enforcement professional should take this course. We are all one call away from being case law ourselves and this course will protect you from that. Even though John is an attorney he keeps the class interesting and encourages questions as he was a cop himself not that long ago.
The training was extremely insightful. John took a complex subject and explained it in a common-sense manner.
I took the 4-day session including Search & Seizure, Traffic Stops/Searches, Search Warrants, and Interviews & Interrogations, and I honestly was not prepared for how much I had to learn. Being in law enforcement for 10 years and still having so many questions makes me wish I had access to or knew about this training earlier on, however I am grateful that I had the chance to take these courses! The topics are clear and relevant, the instructor (John) was relatable, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, and he was able to answer any outstanding questions I had. I am much more confident in these areas and have a greater understanding of the legal responsibilities I have in this profession and am very grateful that this training is available! VERY highly recommended!
Advanced Traffic Stops This course had great content and a breakdown of legal theories. The case law references were applicable and backed the topics covered. Our instructor, John, is very knowledgeable and entertaining.

I really enjoyed what the class had to offer. The report writing classes I’ve had are no more than 2 hours long and this was really in-depth. This class also explained the legality side of how your report can cause you to have a hard day in court. I learned a ton and hope to share everything I learned with my agency and fellow Deputies. Bulletproof Report Writing is primarily focused on training officers the required articulation skills that will help them construct legally defensible police reports. Officers need to produce detailed and solid statements on encounters that allow prosecutors to charge defendants without asking for follow-up information. The key ingredient is the power to articulate and officers will learn this vital skill.

This is a great class, not grammar and spelling, but real report writing. Articulation, format, using case law, and more. It is now a staple for my trainees. One day will be set aside their first month on training to take this class.

I attended the Bullet Proof Report Writing course in Henderson this week. Having never bought into the bare minimum amount of training per year, I have invested good deal of my free time taking courses over the last 30 years. I found the recent course in Henderson to one , if not the best organized and best presented, I have ever taken. I felt my time was well vested. I look forward to trying out some of the webinars next.

The way this class was taught and presented needs to be in the academy. This should be required training for Feild Training Officers teaching Officers In Training how to write reports. I had report write explained in so many different ways that I struggled to write clear and concise reports. This class is going to help improve greatly!
