Search and seizure law can be one of the trickiest areas for new officers—but it’s also one of the most important. This online course breaks it down step by step, giving recruits a strong foundation to make solid, legal decisions from their first day on the job. Each module is easy to follow, with clear objectives, reading from the Search & Seizure Survival Guide, and real-world examples that connect classroom learning to what happens on the street. Topics start with the basics—like police-citizen contacts and probable cause—and build to advanced areas like warrantless vehicle searches, community caretaking, and K9 deployments. You’ll also learn Blue to Gold’s proven C.R.E.W. framework (Consent, Recognized Exception, Warrant) and the Three Golden Rules of Search and Seizure, giving you simple tools to make decisions confidently in the field. Videos, case law breakdowns, and instructor insights bring everything to life, making sure the lessons stick.
This class has a lot of good information, I learned a lot.
Easily the best class I’ve taken. Just wish it was longer!
Opened my eyes to new knowledge. Really broke down the 4th amendment and how to bring it back to the working day
very interesting information that I didn’t even know about and learned a lot just by attending this class that I’ll take back with me to inform others.
Outstanding Training for New Officers – A Must-Have Course! Anthony Bandiero’s Basic Search & Seizure for Police Academies is hands down the best foundational course I’ve come across for law enforcement professionals. As someone who has seen many training programs, this course stands out for its clarity, practical application, and engaging delivery. Bandiero’s teaching style makes complex legal principles easy to understand, even for recruits with no prior experience. He takes the guesswork out of topics like probable cause, reasonable suspicion, and the dos and don’ts of lawful searches. The course is packed with real-world examples and up-to-date case law, ensuring every officer is prepared to apply these principles confidently and correctly in the field. The video format is professional and highly engaging, with clear visuals and explanations that keep you interested from start to finish. This course should be mandatory for every police academy—it lays a rock-solid foundation for ethical, effective policing and helps new officers avoid costly mistakes. I highly recommend Basic Search & Seizure for Police Academies to academies, trainers, and anyone starting their law enforcement career. Another excellent resource from Anthony Bandiero and Blue to Gold University!
Good course for squad briefings. These mini courses are nice broken up and you can easily cover one or a few per shift briefing to reinforce the basics. There’s even some surprising things that you may not know.
Some great training at no cost here! The way this material was broken down with the examples that were used for each concept, made it easy to understand. I will be diving into more of what Blue to Gold has to offer. I highly recommend!!
Great refresher.
Great information for new cops and a good review for experienced ones!
Great content
On point.
Excellent course
This course breaks down the basic concept of searches and seizures in a very fluid and informative way. Even if you've already graduated an academy I recommend taking this course as a refresher.
Nice course to keep your skills sharp and dust off your knowledge base.
This is a GREAT class!
This course would be great for an FTO training a new officer to help them understand of the 4th Amendment and exceptions to the 4th Amendment.
This course was very informational and easy to follow. Some subject topics are refreshers but I still learned more information to tie everything together.
A good review for experienced officers also.
Learned a little and relearned a lot. Course is more than just basic and goes into some less discussed areas of search and seizure.
Great refresher and it was needed.
Great course and a better understanding
Great class! I think this is going to be beneficial to cadets in our academy.
Great course even for veteran officers.
Great Training
