As a detective who’s done hundreds of suspect interviews and interrogations, I quickly learned there are two big hurdles to getting a confession from someone who’s actually guilty:
- Getting them to agree to talk in the first place, and
- If it’s a custodial interrogation, getting them to legally waive their rights.
Both steps have to be done the right way—legally, ethically, and professionally—so that everything holds up in court.
When a suspect is approached by police, one of three things usually happens:
- They refuse to talk.
- They talk but lie.
- They talk and tell the truth.
My job is to:
- Get them to talk.
- Get them to be honest.
- Do it all by the book.
This webinar is all about the strategies and tactics to make that happen.
