Great training. It gave me new tools to use in my report such as using bullet points and headings for paragraphs. I enjoyed the examples given and found your ending case example informative on the different steps you took involving every part of the crash (before, middle, and after). You said to not write a report to justify why you made an arrest but for the prosecution. That was something I found helpful in adjusting how I could write my reports.

I'm not much of a review-writing guy. But this class, and the instructor (Det. Zaki H.) were simply top notch. In my 13 years of attending yearly legal updates, I got used to (and was expecting) another boring class. Not this one. Det. Zaki was very energetic and enthusiastic about the material. He set the tone early on encouraging officers to participate, ask questions, and not leaving the class if they had lingering questions. Blue to Gold is by far one of the best training companies out there. I can't recommend this class enough. If you're a cop in Ohio, you should take the class with Det. Zaki who is an Ohio cop himself. A+ class. A+ instructor.

I've been in law enforcement for 9 years now, spending the last few as an investigator. What these Blue to Gold courses are teaching me is that LEOs should be getting far more training on the law and how it can work in their favor. It's taken me this long to learn how to properly apply Miranda yet ensure that application does not destroy my investigation. Same goes for search and seizure. LEOs should be just as up to speed on case law as our DAs. This was a great course!

This was by far the most entertaining and knowledgeable training I have attended in my short three years of Law Enforcement. I took the 4-day session including Search & Seizure, Traffic Stops/Searches, Search Warrants, and Interviews & Interrogations, and I honestly was not prepared for how much I had to learn. Being in law enforcement for 10 years and still having so many questions makes me wish I had access to or knew about this training earlier on, however I am grateful that I had the chance to take these courses! The topics are clear and relevant, the instructor (John) was relatable, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, and he was able to answer any outstanding questions I had. I am much more confident in these areas and have a greater understanding of the legal responsibilities I have in this profession and am very grateful that this training is available! VERY highly recommended!

I have a whole new understanding of the Duty to Intervene. Which is to say I had no prior understanding of the Duty to Intervene. This course should be mandatory.

I am a supervisory special agent with the FDA Office of Criminal Investigations assigned to Headquarters. Our office recently acquired your training portals regarding Duty to Intervene and Real World De-escalation. I have been a federal law enforcement officer for 33 years- and I want to express my appreciation for a very well-put-together program. Things have changed over the time I have served in law enforcement and I think your program effectively confronts the issues that we as law enforcement professionals must cope with. I am assigned to headquarters, but some of the things you address (especially in the Real World De-escalation portal) are measures that I can consider practicing with the management of my own staff in the office setting. John Wiehn was great… a good mix of engaging teaching style and cop-humor for the Emerging Legal Trends and CSI Case Law classes. I never once found myself bored or losing interest. Very knowledgeable on national case law and obviously did his homework on Nebraska stuff as well. Very relevant and valuable training! The slides were factual and easy to follow, and the peppering of videos throughout helped break the monotony. The only thing I’d recommend is using yellow for highlights in the text instead of red for those of us who are slightly colorblind ;-)
