I am an active peace officer and have been in law enforcement for 42 years. No doubt this topic needs to be addressed, as I have witnessed officers over the last few years error on the side of caution and not enforce violations of law because they were unsure if they could search an item. It was also a good refresher for me as it applies to me when I work patrol. This course gives us the confidence to work with without fear of asking ourselves did we make a wrong decision?
