Nick Jerman is a law enforcement veteran with more than 20 years of experience serving in a large metropolitan police department of approximately 1,100 officers. During his career, he worked a wide range of assignments, including Patrol and a Vice Unit, where he developed a strong investigative foundation and a practical understanding of how cases are built from the ground up. His operational experience in a busy urban environment gives him credibility and perspective that resonate with officers at every level.
Nick is widely recognized for his expertise in Social Media and Open Source Intelligence investigations. He played a key role in creating his agency’s Social Media and OSINT Unit, helping design a modern investigative capability that became a resource not only for his department but for agencies across North America. His work in this area reflects a forward-looking approach grounded in real-world application, policy considerations, and investigative effectiveness.
As a trainer, Nick has instructed officers, detectives, analysts, and command staff nationwide on the lawful and effective use of Social Media and OSINT. His training has supported Human Trafficking Task Forces across North America and contributed to successful investigations and victim rescues. In addition to teaching, he continues to assist task forces during major events and complex cases, where his methods have helped identify suspects in human trafficking, drug, and homicide investigations. Nick brings current, practical experience to every class, making his instruction both relevant and immediately usable.
