John Wiehn, Senior Legal Instructor, is an attorney and experienced law enforcement trainer with Blue to Gold Law Enforcement Training. He has spent more than a decade training officers nationwide, with a strong focus on constitutional law and its real world application. His background as a certified peace officer, combined with his legal education, allows him to teach case law in a way that directly supports officer safety and sound decision making in the field.
Before focusing full time on legal instruction, John served in a wide range of operational roles, including Field Training Officer, SWAT Operator, SWAT Less Lethal Senior Grenadier, and Patrol Sergeant. He has instructed at multiple police academies across Arizona and regularly teaches topics such as search and seizure, interviewing and questioning, criminal law, and scenario based tactical decision making. His experience also includes work with prosecutor offices and courts as a certified law clerk, giving him a clear understanding of how police work is evaluated after an incident.
John is widely respected for his ability to connect complex legal standards to real enforcement situations officers face every day. He holds numerous instructor certifications, including Certified Search and Seizure Instructor and Certified Force Science Analyst, and is a practicing member of the Arizona State Bar. Agencies value his practical teaching style, depth of operational experience, and commitment to helping officers apply the law correctly under real world pressure.
