John Wiehn is an Attorney and Senior Legal Instructor with Blue to Gold Law Enforcement Training. John has been training law enforcement officers for over a decade; he is committed to increasing officers’ safety through their understanding of case law and its real-world application. John’s professional endeavors have provided him the opportunity to learn with thousands of officers across the nation.
Before teaching search and seizure full-time, John was a Certified Peace Officer in the State of Arizona. His assignments included Field Training Officer, SWAT Operator, SWAT Less-Lethal Senior Grenadier, and Patrol Sergeant.
John’s education includes undergraduate degrees from the University of Arizona. He graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California, where he also received a Certificate at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, and is a practicing member of the Arizona State Bar.
The class was awesome. It was obvious to me as I was taking the test how much of the information I retained. John did an excellent job presenting the material. I have already spoke with Erahan about bring John back April 2024 for a week to present the report writing class. I also really liked the format of the class as well as the testing procedure. Great Job!
The prerequisites, Advanced Search and Seizure, Advanced Traffic Stops and Advanced Criminal Investigation are the training all Law Enforcement should have to answer the "why" in much of what we do. Blue to Gold then expands further on this with CSSI. John Wiehn had an unmeasurable ability to make the content entertaining and palatable. I couldn't have imagined a better training for the intended purpose.
John was my instructor and he presented a lot of good information to the class. John made sure we understood what h e was talking about before moving on. If we did not understand how he answered the question, he would do make sure he gave us an answer we understood.
Instructor was very educational and kept the class entertaining. Great at keeping the class engaged. Highly recommend.
Informative training that offers numerous resource post training for Officers. I recommend this for new and veteran officers. Also, for prosecutor's, too.
