K9 Case Law - Did this training on zoom. John was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I recognize that zoom training is hard but John kept it interesting and fun. John answered questions and helped expand on all topics presented to him. I would recommend this course to all k9 handlers.

I have taken an in person class and watched several free webinars with John. He is very knowledgeable and highly engaging. I encourage all of my deputies to pursue their own law enforcement education. We can’t possibly teach as much as is necessary as often as needed and still take calls and be proactive. The Community Caretaking/Search & Seizure training was excellent. The instructor broke down complex U.S. Supreme Court cases like Cady v. Dombrowski, Caniglia v. Strom, and State v. Krall in a way that was clear, practical, and directly applicable to law enforcement. I appreciated how the material tied legal principles to real-world policing scenarios, especially distinguishing between true caretaking functions and pretextual searches. The presentation style kept the class engaged, and the trivia questions reinforced the learning. The course gave me tools I can immediately apply in the field to stay legally sound while protecting both public safety and constitutional rights. Highly recommend to any officer who wants to sharpen their understanding of Fourth Amendment law.

I second other reviews by saying John is a stand alone instructor who has been one of the best in my 20+ years of receiving in-person training. I had the privilege of taking the Bullet Proof Report Writing class under his instruction where he kept my attention during the entirety of the course. John led the class mostly from a field officer's perspective, as well as other points of view within the justice system, and explains the material in a way that's easily relatable to everyday duty. I'm rarely impressed with most instructor led courses; this was not the case here!

This is the second course I’ve take that John has instructed. Both courses have been great. John did a great job presenting the information and keeping the class involved. I highly recommend taking any of the Blue to Gold courses if you have an opportunity to do so.

This is the most in depth training that I have ever received on Duty to Intervene. At the end of the training there was no question on if, when, why, or how you should Intervene. Videos and presentation was immaculate.

Great block of instruction on Search and Seizure. Not only is the material current and applicable, but John is an excellent instructor, keeping the class engaged, especially to a bunch of cops. His knowledge of case law is on par with Dale Anderson for any of the IL cops who've attended his classes. Would definitely recommend attending the class.

In 18 years of law enforcement, I have been through a few classes. As an instructor, I have also taught a few. John is a first class instructor. The content was informative, and applicable to the laws of our state. John is definitely an expert in his field. I attended the advanced search and seizure course with John Wiehn. He did a great job explaining different case laws to us and making sure we had an understanding of everything he was teaching us. Every law enforcement professional should take this course. We are all one call away from being case law ourselves and this course will protect you from that. Even though John is an attorney he keeps the class interesting and encourages questions as he was a cop himself not that long ago.

Advanced Traffic Stops This course had great content and a breakdown of legal theories. The case law references were applicable and backed the topics covered. Our instructor, John, is very knowledgeable and entertaining.

Advanced criminal investigations, as part of my job I evaluate curriculum and instructional materials, this is a nearly flawless way to present this, John Wiehn has mastered the art of edutainment.

I really enjoyed what the class had to offer. The report writing classes I’ve had are no more than 2 hours long and this was really in-depth. This class also explained the legality side of how your report can cause you to have a hard day in court. I learned a ton and hope to share everything I learned with my agency and fellow Deputies.
