Mastering Proactive Policing for Patrol

This class is a deep dive into street level proactive policing tactics. Considered by many as the all-encompassing guide for patrol officers looking to reach their potential, every single block of instruction covered is essential to being a multi-dimensional proactive officer on patrol. This course provides the tools and the game plan to the attendee, so that they will leave at the end of the day and be an effective police officer against the criminal element, every single shift. The skills and tactics taught here are universal in police work across the world, as the class does not spend time on state-specific traffic code, penal code, or state-specific case law.

David Bozman

I am in Alaska and the area where I work covers 187 highway miles, with 4 communities. I frequently work solo with the nearest unit on duty 150 miles away. With that said the behavior identification is important. Some of the ideas with 2 officer contact I have to modify to be able to safely work the situation. The specific title of the behavior is helpful in articulating the behavior.

5

Warren O'Neal

Excellent Course. I have attended an inhouse Street Cop Training Course, which contained some similar information. However I found that this particular course was superior in the tone and disbursement of that information. I feel like this course not only refreshed me up on skills sets but also showed even more such as the tactics for foot patrol. As a Lieutenant at my department I know that I will be recommending this course for all of the officers on my shift because if they take it seriously and go out and try to look for the highlighted behaviors they will be able to get results.

5

Anthony Harrop

Everyone needs this class. I’ve taken other proactive patrol classes and it’s the same thing. Always what to look for but never why criminals react that way. Craig Meyer does a great job at explaining the why which helps a lot in court.

5

Matt Bright

GREAT FOR ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS. SHOULD BE MANDATORY FOR ALL NEW OFFICERS.

5

Nathan Jaramillo

I took your full version in person in 2023, and this was a great refresher. Thank you for the knowledge!

5

JM

I watched half of your class on a detail I was working on and then the next night went in on my normal shift. That night on my shift I stopped 3 cars total. The first car I stopped I got was a guy with a 13 year old active warrant from a neighboring county.  While speaking with him he said he had been living in the area for nine years and no one has ever stopped him. The third car I stopped I ended up developing a PC for and got a possession of cocaine and meth as well as a violation of probation. Since I have taken and finished the course I have been finding more crime mainly on the lower level but the reaction and behaviors are very interesting. Just wanted to say thank you, at the agency I work at there is an expectation for proactive police work but no one truly shows you what to look for. I was considering leaving the profession and I truly believe that this course has saved my career.  Thank you.

5

Helped me not only get some of my best arrests but gave me the knowledge and tactics to stay alive.

Outstanding class, so many practical lessons and strategies he shares to catch criminals.

5

Seth Karsten

Helped me not only get some of my best arrests but gave me the knowledge and tactics to stay alive.

5

Matthew Hembree

I absolutely love this class! I learn something from it everytime I watch it. My time is about to run out and I super thankful for the employees at blue to gold to allow me an extension to watch it. I will be purchasing it again to watch once more. Thanks again!

5

Matthew Szoke

I am about to hit my 3 year mark in law enforcement. I used to just stop everything and drive an unmarked unit. Now I have begun to be more selective with my stops and switched to a marked unit. I was only a few modules in the other day when I had a stop with a cluster of behaviors. I ended up flipping my driver on misdemeanor charges for information on drug dealers, and I know that is just the tip of what is to come. The new guy on my shift was my backup and he was amazed at what he watched, and now he wants to learn. I think of all the times I saw these behaviors and let them go because I had no idea what I was looking at or how to articulate it to those who also did not understand. I can confidently say I feel much stronger in my enforcement, lengthening the detention by building RAS through behaviors, articulating what I'm seeing, and getting more quality arrests. I can't recommend this course enough, I can't wait to take it in person in February. In a world of chess versus checkers, this is a grandmaster class.

5

Christopher Schwartz

Why Isnt This Being Taught at At Academy Level Amazing class. Humble Instructor. This class really highlights trends, behaviors, and tactics officers need to be aware of and utilizing at all times. Hopefully i’ll get to take it in person one day. Worth the money to have access to this plethora of information.

5

Christopher Chung

Took his class in person and his online class was just as outstanding. Thorough and in depth, truly took his time with both his in person and online class to make it a great learning experience.

5

Dominic DeMuth

Awesome class, constantly recommend it to all my colleagues.

5

Nicholas Levindoski

Excellent course, very descriptive. The only class that I’ve taken which is relevant to being proactive off the interstates. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone

5

Garry Chapman

I really appreciated how Craig, the instructor, brought science into the discussion, especially when he touched on the sympathetic nervous system and its role in policing. It’s not something you often hear about, but it made a lot of sense when he explained how understanding this can improve how officers respond in high-stress situations. What stood out the most was how Craig didn’t just talk about these concepts—he showed us how they’re being applied in his own department. He used bodycam footage from his team to demonstrate that these strategies aren’t just theories; they actually work. Seeing real-world examples of these techniques in action was both reassuring and inspiring. Overall, I found the course incredibly valuable. It was a great mix of scientific insight and practical application, showing how proactive policing can be more effective when backed by an understanding of human behavior.

5

Kathryn Pavao

Hands down one of the best trainings B2G has featured. The amount of valuable content Craig has packed into this course is impressive. These eight hours of training flew by and I couldn’t get enough. For Officers wanting to be proactive and keep their lives in the process of arresting hard criminals, this class is a must have. Craig breaks down foundational elements to beat cop work that will not only save your life but make you a master of proactive patrol work.

5

Richard Imbimbo

Phenomenal class. This should be a requirement for patrol officers.

5

Taylor Leonard

Excellent course for patrol officers

5

Juan Arenas

This is by far one of the best patrol-oriented trainings I've received. I took the on-demand course (online). At first, I was hesitant because I've taken other online courses from different companies and they kinda… sucked. But man, am I glad I took this class. It was like I was sitting in the actual class. Craig does an excellent job explaining everything and has a plethora of videos to show a step-by-step process. The tactics and methods on identifying behavior have ultimately changed the way that Im proactive. I can't unsee these things now and it feels so good seeing all the behaviors that were taught cause you KNOW you have something good. Its awesome. I strongly recommend taking this course. You'll learn a lot.

5

Stephen Haines

While this is a very fast paced course it’s digestible. It’s helpful that you have a month to watch the webinar. The knowledge ive taken away i am sure will change my career trajectory.

5

Brandon Schmidt

Great short course to drive home observing behaviors. I would recommend this course as a refresher for well-trained cops and a must for new cops. Combine this with courses that are safety oriented, we could really save a lot of cops lives.

5

Wade Ryan

Excellent course, great insight and real world scenarios/examples.

5

Chris Thomas

This was confirmation to a lot of the things I know already but eye opening to some new reactions from criminals.

5

Richard Imbimbo

This class should be required for patrol level officers. It will change the way you police. I highly recommend the full on-demand version.

5

Stanley Vinet

I cannot wait for this course to get close to NOLA! Learn a tremendous amount as a new officer in just one hour!

5

Larry Carlson

Very good class. It appears that it doesn't matter if your new or 25+ yrs on. Excellent starter for someone 1-2yrs and great reminder of things experienced Officers have. During the this one hour webinar I took 3 pages of notes and fulled my toolbelt up with several things to take away and use. Great Job

5

Tyler Buckwald

Engaging, entertaining and great content. Highly recommend!

5

Derek Parks

Great information on behavior ques and things to look for while driving, parked, and pedestrian stops. With it being a mini still covers all the stops we face in patrol. Well narrated and discussed!!

5

John Sidwell

5

5

Steven Weightman

Outstanding intro. I recommend anyone take it.

5

Ryan White

This course was very informative on keeping an eye out for the little things you probably see everyday but overlook. Will definitely take the in-person course when it comes to my state.

5

Hunter Dotson

I have heard about this course from other Blue to Gold instructors and they were not lying when they said it's a game changer! This has definitely opened my eyes on how to further excel in my career and survive the seemingly "average" traffic stop. Thank you, Craig and Blue to Gold for offering this as a free mini course! I will absolutely be signing up for the full in person course.

5

albert leavell

Loved this class. For me it was the missing puzzle piece. Love the articulation of behaviors. Definitely gives you tips and tricks. Amazing course can’t wait to attend the in person course.

5

Nolan Vanover

I have taken several proactive policing courses and Craig's class is the best out there. It was the best when he was with his last company, and its even better with Blue to Gold. Its been refined and organized since then. He explains everything well and shows you real life examples over and over. When you complete this class, you will see what you have been overlooking all this time. This also includes indicators of dangerous intentions. There is no other class I have seen that offers this quality of content on the subject of criminal interdiction. It will make you a better cop and could save lives.

5

Jacob Taylor

I considered myself a traffic cop prior to this course...speeding, seatbelts, petty stuff. Immediately began seeing these reactions to my presence. This course opened up a whole new world of policing for me. Can't recommend it enough for guys that think they are proactive.

5

Roger Antone

I've been an officer for 12 years, This by far is the best training I have ever received! I now have more clarity, confidence, and courage to perform my duties as a officer. I have had FTO's that didn't move the needle. I've had FTO that couldn't explain R.AS. or P.C or refuse to answer questions because, they didn't know the answer. Which in my opinion hinder officers being proactive. This course should be a staple. If I ever become a FTO I would purchase this course for the officers that would be trained by me. This course should added to FTO training across the U.S. this course saves lives. Thank you Sir!

5

Shawn Hudzinski

Just good street cop skills and how to apply and articulate them!

5

Trevor Picard

The information provided is great for new officers trying to find ways to be confident in their proactive work. It is also a great refresher and reminder to experienced officers that may overlook those basics!

5

Joshua Davis

The course builds a strong foundation for the basis of stops and makes me really want to take the deep dive into the behavior of individuals outside of their pre-stop movements and actions.

5

Kathryn Pavao

Wow. What a great crash course! Every beat cop needs this course!

5

Kyle Baker

This is by far the best class that I have taken for my career. Craig is a fantastic teacher and makes this course very enjoyable. Not even a day after completing this course, I have already observed all of these behaviors on the road! Even got 2.4g of fentanyl off a stop while given consent from tips he mentioned in this course. You are doing yourself a disservice by not taking this.
