This is the most in depth training that I have ever received on Duty to Intervene. At the end of the training there was no question on if, when, why, or how you should Intervene. Videos and presentation was immaculate.
Great block of instruction on Search and Seizure. Not only is the material current and applicable, but John is an excellent instructor, keeping the class engaged, especially to a bunch of cops. His knowledge of case law is on par with Dale Anderson for any of the IL cops who've attended his classes. Would definitely recommend attending the class.

In 18 years of law enforcement, I have been through a few classes. As an instructor, I have also taught a few. John is a first class instructor. The content was informative, and applicable to the laws of our state. John is definitely an expert in his field. He is a great instructor who keeps the class engaged and he has recently taken time to help review our inventory policy, which was very helpful! Blue to gold is the gold standard of law enforcement training.

I took Advanced Search and Seizure and Advanced Traffic Stops with John. As we all know, Washington state is very restrictive with police affairs. John dove deep into case law to provide Officers with more tools, and dispel commonly accepted beliefs regarding WA laws. And he did so in a fun and captivating manner. I attended the advanced search and seizure course with John Wiehn. He did a great job explaining different case laws to us and making sure we had an understanding of everything he was teaching us. Every law enforcement professional should take this course. We are all one call away from being case law ourselves and this course will protect you from that. Even though John is an attorney he keeps the class interesting and encourages questions as he was a cop himself not that long ago.

I took the 4-day session including Search & Seizure, Traffic Stops/Searches, Search Warrants, and Interviews & Interrogations, and I honestly was not prepared for how much I had to learn. Being in law enforcement for 10 years and still having so many questions makes me wish I had access to or knew about this training earlier on, however I am grateful that I had the chance to take these courses! The topics are clear and relevant, the instructor (John) was relatable, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, and he was able to answer any outstanding questions I had. I am much more confident in these areas and have a greater understanding of the legal responsibilities I have in this profession and am very grateful that this training is available! Advanced Traffic Stops This course had great content and a breakdown of legal theories. The case law references were applicable and backed the topics covered. Our instructor, John, is very knowledgeable and entertaining.

I really enjoyed what the class had to offer. The report writing classes I’ve had are no more than 2 hours long and this was really in-depth. This class also explained the legality side of how your report can cause you to have a hard day in court. I learned a ton and hope to share everything I learned with my agency and fellow Deputies. This is a great class, not grammar and spelling, but real report writing. Articulation, format, using case law, and more. It is now a staple for my trainees. One day will be set aside their first month on training to take this class.

I attended the Bullet Proof Report Writing course in Henderson this week. Having never bought into the bare minimum amount of training per year, I have invested good deal of my free time taking courses over the last 30 years. I found the recent course in Henderson to one , if not the best organized and best presented, I have ever taken. I felt my time was well vested. I look forward to trying out some of the webinars next.

I enjoyed all the classes by Blue To Gold so far! The deep dive into how our legal system interprets our actions and how we can better explain our actions is literal gold. The understanding the classes teach leads to a better application of the law and thus a better understanding of it as well. The way this class was taught and presented needs to be in the academy. This should be required training for Feild Training Officers teaching Officers In Training how to write reports. I had report write explained in so many different ways that I struggled to write clear and concise reports. This class is going to help improve greatly!
Report writing....I think this class had a lot of great information related to report writing. The information was easy to comprehend. I think there was a decent amount of search and seizure topics, maybe some of that can be scaled back. The book is a cherry on top! Thank you!

When I was forced to complete this training I was a little annoyed I had to watch 4 hours worth of video. As the training went on I actually learned a lot. It was great information, provided great tips and tricks, the instructor was chill and appeared to be himself and wasn't being too professional for the camera. It was a great training.
This course was actually very good. I went into it with low expectations because web-based training can be rough, however, the instructor was engaging, articulate, funny, and on point. The videos were great. The subject's relevance to current events was definitely helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone in need of some good de-escalation training.
All 4 classes I took were amazing. They were packed with all kinds of useful modern-day information, and the instructor did it in a way that kept the class engaged. Would recommend it to everyone in law enforcement.
Another great set of classes. We are mandated to take de-escalation and duty to intervene classes here, but BtG made a very dry subject into one that was not only palatable but enjoyable! John Wiehn was an excellent instructor and an expert on the subject matter. Plenty of good videos and cop anecdotes kept things engaging as well. 10/10 would go to any BtG training if they are as good as these two classes.

I was a part of the de-escalation training module. It was absolutely outstanding, the instructor was highly knowledgeable and easy to follow along with. I would highly recommend this course to anyone.
Real World De-escalation: Incredibly relevant and applicable. It’s great to hear this sort of training from those who have backgrounds as LE and attorneys.
I’m still quite new to law enforcement so sitting in the de-escalation class was very informative. It explains some ways that I can better explain things to try and de-escalate a situation. However, it also explains that not all situations are able to be de-escalated. Which made me feel more confident in judging if a situation will be able to be de-escalated or not.
De-escalation This class was incredible. I really appreciated the videos that incorporated real-life situations in which the techniques were applied. Our instructor did an awesome job conveying the material.

Good class about de-escalation
This de-escalation class greatly helped in reviewing and informing officers of great de-escalation tactics to employ and the situations in which they should be employed. The instructor did a great job at presenting the material and showed videos that provided conversations and how they relate to the de-escalation principles.
De-escalation class. The class was very in-depth in providing step-by-step processes to effectively de-escalate and non-escalate some situations that it is appropriate to utilize. The instructor having both LE and legal experience provided two different points of view on situations that are pivotal in how situations can proceed.
It’s really good training and very informative. More than most training, real-life scenarios and footage were used.

I am a supervisory special agent with the FDA Office of Criminal Investigations assigned to Headquarters. Our office recently acquired your training portals regarding Duty to Intervene and Real World De-escalation. I have been a federal law enforcement officer for 33 years- and I want to express my appreciation for a very well-put-together program. Things have changed over the time I have served in law enforcement and I think your program effectively confronts the issues that we as law enforcement professionals must cope with. I am assigned to headquarters, but some of the things you address (especially in the Real World De-escalation portal) are measures that I can consider practicing with the management of my own staff in the office setting.
