Chris was very relatable and knowledgeable! As far as a law class, this was one of the best classes I have attended. Chris being both a lawyer and an officer was very unique and provided a different perspective on the subject matter.
While this was a refresher course for me, there were still things I learned. I liked the way the instructor used examples which is good for clarification on issues.
Chris was able to break things down into terms and diagrams that I had not seen before. The open dialogue also allowed for multiple questions on a wide range of topics. Chris is down to earth and his knowledge is second to none! I would gladly take other courses regardless of the topic, if he was the instructor.
Your class was the best and most informative I have ever been to! Keep doing what you are doing!
I just completed the Blue to Gold Traffic Stop and Arrest, Search, and Seizure course at my agency. What an absolutely phenomenonal course. I have learned more in the past two days than I did in my Police Academy. The course content was extremely applicable to our daily tasks on the street. Our Advanced Search and Seizure training is designed to equip officers with the knowledge and skills they need to independently analyze and solve Fourth Amendment problems, leading to a reduction in lawsuits and the ability to establish good case law. By the end of this course, students will have a solid understanding of when the Fourth Amendment applies, the requirement of consent, recognized exceptions, and the necessity of a warrant for every search or seizure.
This was a great course- building upon principles which everyday officers are enacting. The knowledge gained clarifies the ability and understanding of the “why” officers do certain things, and the “how” to properly do them; avoiding liability and penalty.
I attended the advanced search and seizure course with John Wiehn. He did a great job explaining different case laws to us and making sure we had an understanding of everything he was teaching us. Every law enforcement professional should take this course. We are all one call away from being case law ourselves and this course will protect you from that. Even though John is an attorney he keeps the class interesting and encourages questions as he was a cop himself not that long ago.
Advanced Search and Seizure training taught by John Wiehn is easily the best SaS training I have ever received. Well done! My first blue to gold training and I will be seeking out more. Thank you!

In our fast-paced instruction, we use real-world case law to delve into the legal aspects of searches and seizures in federal and state-specific jurisdictions, with a specific focus on traffic stops. Our goal is to provide officers with a deeper understanding of important case law related to traffic stops, emphasizing the significance of consent, exceptions, and warrants in any search or seizure.
The Advanced Traffic Stops class was awesome and the instructor was engaging. He made the class very enjoyable and informational.
I took the Advanced Traffic stops course. This course was helpful in explaining case law. That course was a detailed refresher.
