This class is a deep dive into street level proactive policing tactics. Considered by many as the all-encompassing guide for patrol officers looking to reach their potential, every single block of instruction covered is essential to being a multi-dimensional proactive officer on patrol. This course provides the tools and the game plan to the attendee, so that they will leave at the end of the day and be an effective police officer against the criminal element, every single shift. The skills and tactics taught here are universal in police work across the world, as the class does not spend time on state-specific traffic code, penal code, or state-specific case law.
Throughout the entire class, the attendee can expect to be a part of an intense, rapid-fire exposure to successful street level interdiction tactics, having a front seat ride for it as they will analyze and break-down numerous police body worn camera videos with the instructor and gain repeated mental repetitions, making these mental experiences their own.
This class provides a different experience for the attendee from any other class out there, being considered a virtual proactive field-training type experience. Instructor Craig Meyer methodically breaks down the different blocks of instruction so that each one builds on the next in what he refers to as, building the layers of the proactive pyramid from the bottom up. Specifically, the attendee will become versed in the role of the limbic system with respect to freeze, flight, and fight, verbal and nonverbal distancing behaviors, stress indicators and pacifying behaviors and pre-flight and pre-assault indicators. These layers will be explained by showing countless examples of pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle stops, breaking them down so the attendee understands how to work through them successfully from start to finish. The attendee will be shown how to legally as well as successfully navigate through developing reasonable articulable suspicion, how to conduct roadside interviews, how to build rapport, gain admissions of probable cause and gain consent, as well as how to work through the times when consent is denied and R.A.S. is present.
This course takes on the role of the virtual FTO, providing the attendee the skills and tactics that are critical for them as an officer, to successfully go out and interdict crime at the street level. This course has an equal focus on providing the attendee with officer safety tactics that are imperative for increasing the survival rate of an on-the-job assault as well as the skills and knowledge to see them coming before it is too late. This is primarily achieved through what Meyer refers to as a combination of Perception Fieldcraft and Impression Management which comes into play on every stop made.

I am about to hit my 3 year mark in law enforcement. I used to just stop everything and drive an unmarked unit. Now I have begun to be more selective with my stops and switched to a marked unit. I was only a few modules in the other day when I had a stop with a cluster of behaviors. I ended up flipping my driver on misdemeanor charges for information on drug dealers, and I know that is just the tip of what is to come. The new guy on my shift was my backup and he was amazed at what he watched, and now he wants to learn. I think of all the times I saw these behaviors and let them go because I had no idea what I was looking at or how to articulate it to those who also did not understand. I can confidently say I feel much stronger in my enforcement, lengthening the detention by building RAS through behaviors, articulating what I'm seeing, and getting more quality arrests. I can't recommend this course enough, I can't wait to take it in person in February. In a world of chess versus checkers, this is a grandmaster class.
Why Isnt This Being Taught at At Academy Level Amazing class. Humble Instructor. This class really highlights trends, behaviors, and tactics officers need to be aware of and utilizing at all times. Hopefully iโll get to take it in person one day. Worth the money to have access to this plethora of information.

I really appreciated how Craig, the instructor, brought science into the discussion, especially when he touched on the sympathetic nervous system and its role in policing. Itโs not something you often hear about, but it made a lot of sense when he explained how understanding this can improve how officers respond in high-stress situations. What stood out the most was how Craig didnโt just talk about these conceptsโhe showed us how theyโre being applied in his own department. He used bodycam footage from his team to demonstrate that these strategies arenโt just theories; they actually work. Seeing real-world examples of these techniques in action was both reassuring and inspiring. Overall, I found the course incredibly valuable. This is by far one of the best patrol-oriented trainings I've received. I took the on-demand course (online). At first, I was hesitant because I've taken other online courses from different companies and they kindaโฆ sucked. But man, am I glad I took this class. It was like I was sitting in the actual class. Craig does an excellent job explaining everything and has a plethora of videos to show a step-by-step process. The tactics and methods on identifying behavior have ultimately changed the way that Im proactive. I can't unsee these things now and it feels so good seeing all the behaviors that were taught cause you KNOW you have something good. Its awesome. I strongly recommend taking this course. You'll learn a lot.
While this is a very fast paced course itโs digestible. Itโs helpful that you have a month to watch the webinar. The knowledge ive taken away i am sure will change my career trajectory.
Great short course to drive home observing behaviors. I would recommend this course as a refresher for well-trained cops and a must for new cops. Combine this with courses that are safety oriented, we could really save a lot of cops lives.

I've been an officer for 12 years, This by far is the best training I have ever received! I now have more clarity, confidence, and courage to perform my duties as a officer. I have had FTO's that didn't move the needle. I've had FTO that couldn't explain R.AS. or P.C or refuse to answer questions because, they didn't know the answer. Which in my opinion hinder officers being proactive. This course should be a staple. If I ever become a FTO I would purchase this course for the officers that would be trained by me. The course builds a strong foundation for the basis of stops and makes me really want to take the deep dive into the behavior of individuals outside of their pre-stop movements and actions.

Craig Meyer has been a certified Peace Officer since 2013. He began his career in Somerset County, New Jersey where he graduated the police academy and then worked for two different municipal police departments from 2013-2017. At the end of 2017, Meyer transferred to the State of Texas to work with a municipal police department.
Since transferring to Texas, Meyer has promoted to the role of Sergeant. During his time in Texas he has held the positions of Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Program Coordinator and SWAT Team Leader. Meyer stands behind his โlead from the frontโ mentality as a supervisor, prioritizes developing his people and believes in fulfilling his greater purpose of helping officers all over the country achieve success in employing proactive policing tactics.
