Jake put on a fantastic class. I’ve been a cop for about 12 years and this was the most relatable class I’ve had. Cops teaching cops. Jake covered material that we deal with on a day to day basis and taught it in a way that kept our attention opposed to the suit and ties that usually end up boring us to death. Highly recommend.

Jake did an outstanding job in all three classes I was able to attend. I was impressed by his knowledge, expertise, and unwavering commitment to developing the next and current generation of law enforcement professionals. Throughout the course, Jake provided invaluable insights into the complexities of policing. Jake’s real-life case examples, and thought-provoking discussions allowed the class to gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and responsibilities officers face. Jake’s passion for the field was evident during all classes. Jake inspires students to think critically, develop communication skills, and embrace the importance of ethical decision-making. Jake’s ability to connect with students created a supportive and engaging learning environment. Furthermore, Jake's dedication to ensuring success extended beyond the classroom. Jake was patient and answered questions, provided guidance, and offered encouragement for what police officers face daily. I will be sending all the officers through these classes, hands down one of the best training(s) I have attended in 14 years!

I loved the way the material was presented in a way that was easy of the "lay-cop" to understand. It was also presented in a way that was easy to remember and apply on scene, in the moment. 5

How often do you encounter curriculum with dated case law and it's presented as the latest and greatest? Not this course, the references here are absolutely relevant and up to date as of Oct 2023. (course was taken 5/24). The course was well presented and clearly articulated the material in a manner such that I could work patrol tonight and put the lessons learned into practice. I'll approach curtilage with a newfound appreciation and always bring my C.R.E.W. With me.

Mr. Biggs recently taught the advanced search and seizure class in Gillette, WY and as a whole I think the common opinion of Mr Biggs was "wow, he can teach, and this class is entertaining, informative, and he's a really cool guy." He gave ample examples, was clearly knowledgeable on the subjects and super thorough. He gained everybody's respect in a matter of minutes and I think from here on out we will all think back to this class and what Mr. Biggs taught us throughout our careers. It is rare to find people who are passionate for what they do and that care and especially who can teach the subject well. You have a great instructor and he needed credit where credits was due!

5

Ryan Thomeczek

Fort Lupton PD
Colorado

Advanced Search and Seizure: the course and instructor were excellent. I’m a self-proclaimed 4th Amendment nerd and place a high value on protecting peoples’ rights. This class gave me a better understanding of some case law I did not have confidence in. In this profession, you need to know the “why” behind your action or inaction and if you are unsure about where your legal authority begins and ends, I recommend this course. Do not trust the old-timers in your agency that have been around for decades. Know current case law and trust yourself and your education. This course is awesome.

5

I've always loved Blue to Gold's videos and free classes. I got into them because Bandiero used to work at my agency. I read Nevada Search and Seizure cover to cover a couple times and scored top for detective testing out of around 12 people. Not a lot for most agencies but still significant for us. I attribute that scoring to Blue to Gold's book. I constantly am loaning out my books to people who want to advance themselves and encourage everyone else to get them too. They are a cops biggest tool for in the field and career development. The instructor for this class is super knowledgeable and being that he used to be a cop, makes him relatable to us. Not just some attorney. Online training is tough but he and his team are doing a great job addressing questions from in person and online students.

John Wiehn was great… a good mix of engaging teaching style and cop-humor for the Emerging Legal Trends and CSI Case Law classes. I never once found myself bored or losing interest. Very knowledgeable on national case law and obviously did his homework on Nebraska stuff as well. Very relevant and valuable training! The slides were factual and easy to follow, and the peppering of videos throughout helped break the monotony. The only thing I’d recommend is using yellow for highlights in the text instead of red for those of us who are slightly colorblind ;-)

This course was very easy to follow and created an informative & educational building block which every law enforcement agency should build upon. As dynamic as public safety is, the importance of building trust and partnerships with the community are invaluable. The only way for LEO to conduct themselves is from a professional standard.

I am a supervisory special agent with the FDA Office of Criminal Investigations assigned to Headquarters. Our office recently acquired your training portals regarding Duty to Intervene and Real World De-escalation. I have been a federal law enforcement officer for 33 years- and I want to express my appreciation for a very well-put-together program. Things have changed over the time I have served in law enforcement and I think your program effectively confronts the issues that we as law enforcement professionals must cope with. I am assigned to headquarters, but some of the things you address (especially in the Real World De-escalation portal) are measures that I can consider practicing with the management of my own staff in the office setting. Again—thank you and thanks for making us better law enforcement personnel!

I took the 4-day session including Search & Seizure, Traffic Stops/Searches, Search Warrants, and Interviews & Interrogations, and I honestly was not prepared for how much I had to learn. Being in law enforcement for 10 years and still having so many questions makes me wish I had access to or knew about this training earlier on, however I am grateful that I had the chance to take these courses! The topics are clear and relevant, the instructor (John) was relatable, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, and he was able to answer any outstanding questions I had. I am much more confident in these areas and have a greater understanding of the legal responsibilities I have in this profession and am very grateful that this training is available! VERY highly recommended!
